COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Lasallian Volunteers
The Lasallian Volunteer Program has been supporting mission areas with pressing needs and conducting activities focused on education, environment, and empowerment for 25 years.
Graduates, teachers, and staff from any La Salle schools have been volunteering in these Lasallian Volunteer Program Communities, turning over the introduced educational programs to the local community after a certain period of time. We served three communities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, prior to the pandemic. We also helped the IP Community in San Luis, Agusan del Sur. Our activities include teaching in schools, tutorials, special education, and helping indigenous people.
Additionally, we have been fulfilling our commitment to the environment, spearheading coastal cleanups, waste segregation, and disaster risk reduction projects. We also created initiatives that advocate empowerment, such as leadership programs, youth empowerment activities, community-building endeavors, spiritual formation efforts, and livelihood programs.
This 2022, we are looking to re-open the program to two communities in Kalinga and Siargao.
